Turtles and Tunas in the Mix

The June 21 aerial survey of the Great South Channel -SCOPEX South  sighted 39 humpback whales, 11 fin whales., 7 minke whales, 257 common dolphins., 7 Atlantic white-sided dolphins., 7 harbor porpoise, 41 basking sharks, 1 leatherback turtle,  and 76 tunas.  No North Atlantic right whales were observed.

Dolphins were observed in numbers during the June 20 aerial survey of Great South Channel -SCOPEX North. June 20.  The team saw 26 humpback whales, 1 fin whale, 1 sei whale, 2 minke whales, 70 common dolphins, 98 Atlantic white-sided dolphins, 17 basking sharks, and 2 ocean sunfish.  Five North Atlantic right whales were also observed.
