We’re Flying Again!

The Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC)’s aerial survey team is flying again. The NOAA Twin Otter flies at an altitude of 750 feet in a sawtooth pattern, with a typical flight lasting six hours, weather permitting.

A March 27 survey of Jeffrey’s Ledge and Wildcat Knoll  resulted in sightings of 1 humpback whale, 2 fin whales, 6 harbor porpoise, and one right whale feeding during transit.
